Something old, something new
Commissioned by a sailor, Friderich Olsen, it was built in half-timbering with a brick basement on a street named after the neighbourhood’s history hosting workshops for minting coins, Gammel Mønt (Old Coin).
There is photographic evidence the store has been active for more than a century, and it was once the home of a renowned glassmaker, the one-of-a-kind curved glass by the entrance a testament to his precision. Inside, the beams are pine originals, the flagstone floor is island stone, shipped from Bornholm, while the rear courtyard is a sanctuary of preserved old Copenhagen charm.
